The Adam Sandler produced comedy oddly received a B on CinemaScore, while still managing one of the worst studio openings of recent times.

Among the big-budget flops of 2011, the Adam Sandler produced Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star can now boast at least one major milestone – the elusive zero-percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Nick Swardson stars in the Happy Madison film, which finds him as a naive young man who hits Hollywood to pursue a career in porn.

“I wrote it with Adam Sandler, but it was his idea,” Swardson told The Hollywood Reporter at the Video Music Awards. “It’s a really sweet story about this kind of nice kid who finds out his parents used to be porn stars. He decides that’s his calling and even though he’s never even orgasmed before, he decides to be a porn star.”

“It’s in Adam’s brain,” he added of the initial concept for the film. “Adam’s brain is very different and special. He pulls out some pretty random ideas. “

Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star opened on Sept. 9, earning a dismal $1.5 million from 1,500 theaters to fall outside of the top 10 — one of the worst studio openings in recent times. Oddly, Bucky Larson received a B on CinemaScore.
